You attend a large public school in Indian Bend in the state of Wisconsin. Your school mascot, the Warriors, has been existence for over fifty years. The image or logo of the Warrior mascot, seen here, is based on historical images of the local Indian nation. The nation gives its endorsement of the mascot and assists in training the students that serve as the mascot. However, some Indian members of the community feel that the mascot reinforces stereotypes and marginalize the Indian community. Using Wisconsin Act 250 , they have petitioned the school district to remove both the Indian mascot and the name “Warriors”. The district has decided to hold a town meeting to solicit the input of the community before making a decision on the issue.
