HISTORICAL PARENTS

One of the reasons I developed this website was to assist the parents of my 8th grade young historians.  Hopefully you can navigate around the rest oif the wenbsite to findout some of this ins and outs of American history class. Please email me with any questions or concerns!

What can you do to help your young historian?

  • Watch the news and read the newspaper with your young historian, making historical connections with her or him.
  • Check out one of the extra credit historical movies (dramatic or documentary) with your young historian – awesome historical bonding time!
  • Ask your young historian to teach you the material we have discussed in class.
  • Encourage your young historian to read, read, read, and read!
  • Check the American History Website for due dates on major assignments, upcoming tests, and other important tidbits of information.
  • If you are traveling, see if you can spend a few minutes at a historical site or place of some historical significance – and don’t forget the History Rules! pictures!
  • Monitor your young historian as the National History Day project progresses.
  • Help your young historian to gain an appreciation and a love for learning by pointing out how cool it is to be in school!
