Monday, October 1 - Twin Primes warm-up today.  You will get your number for your lattice project today.  See me if you want a partner for your project.  It will be due next week Friday.  Work on the yellow sheet from yesterday for homework tonight.  There will be a factor lattice quiz on Friday.

Tuesday, October 2 - No warm-up today.  We will play Number Theory Jeopardy today.  Tonight's homework is to finish the yellow factor lattice worksheet.  Factor Lattice Quiz tomorrow!

    Here's what I'm looking for on the yellow sheet:

• Why do we do factor lattices?
• How do you start a factor lattice?
• Why do the primes have to connect to one?
• Why does it start with a 1 and why does the one have to be in a corner?
• Why is it 3D?
• Why is it 2x1x1?
• Why does 3 have to be on the right?
• Why do you multiply by 5 when going up on the lattice?
• Why do you multiply by 3 when going to the right on the lattice?
• Why do you multiply by 2 when going diagonally on the lattice?

Friday, October 3 - No warm-up today.  We will be taking a short factor lattice quiz today.  Make sure you come to school on Monday with materials - you will have Monday and Tuesday to work on them!  If you don't have your materials, you will lose 5 organization points per day!

Monday, October 6 - No warm-up today.  You will have the day to work on your lattice project.  Project is due on Friday as are ALL corrections from this unit!  Here is the rubric.  I need to see the following rules and spelling and grammar count!

• How do you start your lattice?
• Why did you put one where you did?
• Why is it the dimension it is?
• Why is it the size it is?
• Why are the primes where they are?
• What are the rules for multiplication on your lattice?
• Why do we do lattices?

Tuesday, October 7 - No warm-up today.  You have all day to work on your project, which is due on Friday.  This is your last on-class day.  Your rules need to be glued on the project itself as well as handed in to me so make two copies of them!

Wednesday, October 8 - No warm-up today.  This will be your final day to work in-class on the factor lattice project.  This is due on Friday - every day it's late will result in a 10 point drop per day!  Corrections are due Friday as are warm-ups!

Thursday, October 9 - Factors warm-up today.  Warm-ups will be collected tomorrow.  Corrections are due tomorrow.  Factor lattice project is due tomorrow - make sure you have a copy of your rules on your lattice as well as handed in to me.  If you are absent today, I will expect them in on Monday then.  Today we will discuss GCF and LCM.  Tonight's homework is textbook P.17 #4 all.  Show all work!

Friday, October 10 - No warm-up today.  Turn in warm-ups, corrections, homework and rules.  Lattice project is due today.  Today we will discuss Square and Cube Roots.  Tonight's homework is workbook P.2 (#47-57 odds only).  Show all work - no calculators!

Tuesday, October 14 - Multiplying fractions warm-up today.  We will talk about multiplying positive and negative fractions today.  Tonight's homework is the multiplication of rational numbers worksheet.

Wednesday, October 15 - Multiplying fractions warm-up #2 today.  We will discuss dividing fractions today.  Tonight's homework is the division of rational numbers worksheet.

Thursday, October 16 - Dividing fractions warm-up today.  We will discuss addition and subtraction of fractions today.  Tonight's homework is the addition and subtraction of rational numbers worksheet.

Friday, October 17 - Subtracting fractions warm-up today.  We will go over last night's homework.  Tonight's homework is the fractions worksheet.

Monday, October 20 - Fraction rules warm-up.  Tonight's homework is the fractions worksheet #2.  Watch out for signs!

Tuesday, October 21 - No warm-up today.  Warm-ups are due tomorrow.  Tonight's homework is to do all corrections and study for tomorrow's fraction quiz.  Here is what we did in class today and here are the answers.  Here is another practice sheet - use a calculator to check your answers - the A b/c button is the button you use to put fractions into the calculator.

Wednesday, October 22 - Warm-ups are due today.  Fraction quiz today.  No homework over the long weekend.  Pack warmly for the retreat!

Monday, October 27 - No warm-up today.  We will clean and organize our binders today and go over last Wednesday's quiz.  If you got a C- or below, you can retake it for an average of the two grades by Friday.

Tuesday, October 28 - No warm-up today.  We will discuss adding and subtracting decimals today.  No homework tonight.

Wednesday, October 29 - Place value with decimals warm-up.  We will discuss multiplication and division of decimals today.  Tonight's homework is the operations with decimals worksheet.

Thursday, October 30 - Writing decimals as fractions warm-up.  We will talk about word problems with fractions today.  Tonight's homework is workbook P.22 #57-60 all.  Show all work!

Friday, October 31 - Fraction review warm-up.  Today's homework is the Decimals Practice Worksheet.
