Middle School Software Titles

Several parents have asked for a list of the software titles that we run on our computers in the Middle School.  Keep in mind that you don’t need the exact same version of software on your home computers.  Older versions of Office tend to work fine with the newer versions.  Also, while it would be nice to have all of the software that you see below on your home computer, it certainly is not necessary.  Here is a list of the software that we run on most of our computers:

Microsoft Office XP (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher)

Outlook and Internet Explorer (this is free)

Geometers Sketchpad –.  This software is an excellent piece of math software used by math classes at all grade levels.   Contact 8th Grade Math Teacher, Joe Georgeson for more information.

MicroWorlds Pro –MicroWorlds Pro is used for teaching programming concepts in our Introduction to Programming elective.  It is also used in some math classes.  Contact Matt Montagne for more information.

Inspiration –This is a wonderful piece of software that students and teachers use for creating outlines and graphical organizers.  Useful for all classes.
