Overriding Themes Throughout Entire Unit

 
Privileges come with responsibilities.
Every person grows and develops at their own natural rate. There is no one right time for the changes of puberty to occur.
From the ages of 10 - 16, you should expect to see peers in all different stages of physical maturity, and show and understanding of the feelings each person may be going through as a result of the timing of these changes.
Sexual intercourse should wait until a person's lifelong partner has been chosen. (When intercourse is discussed in class, it is mentioned as an act of love between husband and wife.)
Being physically able to have children does not mean a person is emotionally or mentally ready to have a child.
No one needs to get HIV if they do not do drugs or have sexual intercourse with anyone other than their mate for life.
One of the strongest loves in the world is between parent and child. Your parents love you dearly and want the best for you.
